Traces/Rastros

Traces/Rastros is a photographic collection of crosses and animitas (small edifices found throughout South America that commemorate unexpected or tragic deaths) the living have erected at the death sites of their loved ones. This project relies upon public and private memory, as well as what – or who - eludes us. Thus viewers are left with glimpses of a now absent subject, or a forgotten cross where memory no longer resides.
